Avani Doshi's Tribute Page

Avani, slow and steady, rule following, social butterfly who loved life!
She live her short life to the fullest!   Avani loved animals and enjoyed playing tennis, board games, drawing, reading, and especially her family and friends.  She enjoyed everyone and everything in her life and made everyone feel special.  She was the kind of girl who made friends everywhere she went because of her positive spirit and bubbly personality.

She was smart, funny, spunky, energetic and so caring. She had a huge heart never hesitating to help when she saw the need.  She was truly one of a kind and will be missed so, so very much. It is difficult to sum up this sweet girl into just a few words.  Avani will always hold a special place in our hearts

At the age of 11 Avani passed away from DIPG.  Unlike most DIPG stories, Avani showed no sign of a brain tumor until the night of her passing.

In the days before her passing, Avani was happy and healthy and actively playing with her friends.  She went to school on February 6, 2017, and in the evening she complained of feeling dizzy and her head hurting.  We had thought she had caught the flu.  We were shocked when Avani was gone in a few hours . . . just after midnight.  She died peacefully in her sleep.

Eventually, after Avani's passing, we learned that she had a tumor and they determined it was DIPG
